CINEMA NOVA STEPS INTO THE FUTURE WITH BAR 2049

To celebrate the release of the hugely anticipated BLADE RUNNER 2049, Cinema Nova presents BAR 2049 which sees the Nova Bar & Kitchen transformed into an immersive, visually stunning pop-up bar.

Taking inspiration and visual cues from the new film and the original Blade Runner, BAR 2049 features: custom wall murals from street artist Chris Hancock of Blender Creative; immersive video installations from filmmaker Ben Helweg; an audio soundscape that fuses the iconic music from the first feature with synth pop; a ‘Tastes From The Future’ menu including Blade Runner themed cocktails NEXUS 9 and THE OFFWORLD, plus much more.  

Cinema Nova has long held a passion for the original 1982 film with multiple seasons having screened over the years under the Nova Iconic retrospective banner. BAR 2049 is an extension of our enthusiasm and excitement for both films.

Directed by the Denis Villeneuve (Arrival) Blade Runner 2049 is set thirty years after the events of the first film and sees a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Oscar nominee Ryan Gosling), unearthing a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos.

The Nova Bar and Kitchen launched in July 2010 and features spectacular terrace views overlooking Lygon Street. Open from 10am and licensed from 12noon daily, the dinner menu is available from 5pm weeknights and 12noon Saturday & Sunday.

BAR 2049 @ Cinema Nova will be open to the public from Thursday September 28^th. Blade Runner 2049 opens on October 5.
